Twitter trends have an intriguing feature where they always include at least one hashtag that seems expressly designed to display the worst individuals humanity has to offer. (I mean, I guess if you exclude mass-murdering dictators and shit, though we’ll see some of that shortly.)
One of today’s trending hashtags is #VotingForObamaBidenIsLike, and the results are predictable. Yes, you’ve got your racism…
#VotingForObamaBidenIsLike renouncing your American citizenship and becoming a terrorist loving communist.

— Thomas Bruce (@BrucePolWatch) August 12, 2012
A little sexism…
#VotingForObamaBidenIsLike being forced to look at Nancy Pelosi and listen to her screech.
— Steve Webber (@Directorwebber) August 12, 2012
Obviously the requisite classism…
#VotingForObamaBidenIsLike expecting a person from three generations of Welfare leeches to get a job.
— Docleadfoot (@docleadfoot) August 12, 2012
Even some ableism!

#VotingForObamaBidenIsLike the dumbest thing you can do
— CJ’ Freedom Keepers (@cjkpilot) August 12, 2012

#VotingForObamaBidenIsLike receiving a Mother’s Day card from Margaret Sanger
— Wayne Schields (@ReverendRubicon) August 12, 2012

#VotingForObamaBidenIsLike is like buying a ticket on the Titanic—we already know it’s a sinking ship.
— Tré Goins-Phillips (@tregp) August 12, 2012
I don’t think this analogy works. I mean, the passengers didn’t know the ship was going to sink when they bought their tickets…
#VotingForObamaBidenIsLike telling all your co-workers at the New York Times your a conservative
— Regulus de Leo (@RegulusdeLeo) August 12, 2012
I dunno, Ross Douthat manages to draw a paycheck from the NYT. Of course, the really baffling thing about that isn’t that he’s conservative so much as that he’s Ross Douthat.
This has been Emphasis on Twit.
